Three Key Bets For Manchester United V Everton

Posted: Friday, 13th December 2019

This weekend Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford, looking for their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. Last Saturday’s derby day triumph over fierce rivals Manchester City, which proceeded another impressive victory over Tottenham, has given the Red Devils a new lease of life after a period of stagnant performances led to many calling for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be replaced.

United cruised to another win in their final Europa League group stage encounter against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday evening, beating the Dutch outfit 4-0, so carry plenty of momentum into this Sunday’s bout against the struggling Toffees.

Everton find themselves in unfamiliar territory this season after a dismal opening half to their campaign. Marco Silva was given his marching orders last week and interim manager Duncan Ferguson’s first game in temporary charge resulted in a shock 3-1 win over Chelsea last Saturday.

The Blues will now be desperate to build on that result with another solid performance against United here, though know that it will not be easy overcoming a side who find themselves in rarely-scintillating form. Ahead of Sunday’s clash at Old Trafford, we’ve taken a look at the form book to see where the value could lie when placing a bet on the game.

Sunday – 2.00pm Odds Bets
Manchester United v Everton
Marcus Rashford to score first    Best Bet 4/1

Odds correct as of 2019-12-13 16:32:45

Marcus Rashford heads into this game as the most in-form player, by a fair distance. The England international has netted 13 goals in all competitions this season – 10 of which have fallen in the Premier League – and has been on target 7 times in his last 8 appearances (all comps).

This weekend’s visit of Everton will present Rashford with a fantastic opportunity to build on his impressive goals tally for the season, and we’re backing him to find a breakthrough against a Toffee’s back-line who have so frequently come unstuck this term – conceding 28 goals in 16 matches.

Sunday – 2.00pm Odds Bets
Manchester United v Everton
Richarlison to score a header    Best Bet 14/1

Odds correct as of 2019-12-13 16:34:15

For the visitors, their main goalscoring threat is winger Richarlison, who has six league goals to his name so far. The Brazilian is in fine form at the moment, notching four goals in his last five appearances for Everton so is definitely the player to watch for the visitors in this fixture.

The Blues have created very little this time out and have only scored 19 goals in total, meaning Richarlison has bagged just under a third of their overall goals. Against a defence as shaky as United’s, he could easily find some joy at Old Trafford this Sunday.

The 22-year-old is priced favourably at 3/1 to score anytime with Paddy Power, and we feel as though that is terrific value considering his recent form. Interestingly, all but two of the South American’s six league goals this term have been headers. With this in mind, backing him to score another in this clash could be a shrewd move – that’s priced at 14/1 with BetVictor.

Sunday – 2.00pm Odds Bets
Manchester United v Everton
Morgan Schneiderlin to be carded    Best Bet 9/4

Odds correct as of 2019-12-13 16:36:35

Former Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has forced his way back into the starting line-up for Everton due to the long-term injury to Andre Gomes. The Frenchman started last weekend’s 3-1 win over Chelsea and is likely to do so against his former employers at Old Trafford this Sunday.

Schneiderlin has been booked 3 times in just 9 starts this season and even saw red against Watford back in August for a second bookable offence at Goodison Park. He is the joint-most carded Everton player this season and will no doubt be right in the thick of it against his former side this weekend. This one’s expected to be a feisty affair, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the 30-year-old make his way into the book, especially given his history with the club.
