Arsenal V Manchester United A 201 Bet Builder To See In The New Year

Posted: Monday, 30th December 2019

Well, what a year that was. Yet again the world’s best league delivered on so many fronts, with Manchester City claiming back-to-back titles and Liverpool becoming the first English team to win the Champions League in seven years. This season the Reds have pretty much wrapped up the Premier League already -13 points clear at the top of the summit after 19 matches with a game in hand over the rest of the chasing pack.

New Year’s Day sees an array of mouth-watering top-flight fixtures for us all to welcome in 2020, with the headlining fixture definitely being Arsenal v Manchester United. Both of these Premier League titans are enduring underwhelming campaigns, though the fifth-placed visitors do find themselves in a much better position after a 2-0 win away at Burnley at the weekend. Arsenal, on the other hand, were desperately unlucky to come away empty-handed from their battle against Chelsea on Sunday. The Gunners took the lead early on but were undone by two late goals from the Blues and have now dropped to 12th in the table.

This Wednesday evening they meet at the Emirates Stadium in a match that promises to be a cracker. Both sides are desperate for a result, more so the hosts who will be looking to rectify the result against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. In preparation for this week’s match between Arsenal and Manchester United, we’ve analysed the betting markets and put together a tasty 20/1 bet builder, just for you.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime

The first leg of our bet builder is a no-brainer. Arsenal’s goal machine, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is yet again in emphatic form this season, scoring 13 league goals so far. The 30-year-old front man was on the scoresheet again at the weekend, nodding home the opener against Chelsea in a match that the Gunners really did look to have wrapped up, before unfolding right at the very end to lose 2-1.

Aubameyang’s performance against the Blues was incredibly impressive, though, as he regularly tracked back to help his side out in defence as well as initially proving the difference in front of goal. He’ll certainly be fired up and raring to go against United this week; we’re backing him to notch his 14th goal of the campaign here.

Anthony Martial to score anytime

Much to my annoyance, due to the fact that I’ve only just took him out of my Fantasy Football team, Anthony Martial is now on fire for United. The France international has scored seven league goals this season, with three of those goals coming in the previous week against Newcastle and Burnley.

The 24-year-old also has a tremendous record against Arsenal, scoring four goals in seven meetings with the Gunners and with his confidence currently sky-high, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him adding to that on Wednesday evening.

Luke Shaw to be booked

No bet builder would be complete without a player booking. For this match, we’ve opted for United left-back Luke Shaw. With two bookings to his name this term, the Englishman has a bit of a reputation when it comes to picking up yellows, especially in big games.

This is expected to be a heated affair with plenty of heavy challenges, and Shaw will most likely be tasked with marking Reiss Nelson on Wednesday night (if Arteta sticks with the same line-up as he did against Chelsea). As shown against Chelsea, Nelson is a tricky player to mark and has bags of pace, which could lead to a late challenge committed by Shaw, thus earning him a place in the referee’s book. With all three selections added here, it takes the odds of our bet builder up to an appealing 20/1!
