Dominant Liverpool Are Skinny Odds To Win Opening Eight Premier League Games

Posted: Thursday, 12th September 2019

Liverpool’s quest for Premier League glory ended in heartbreak last season, as they fell short to Manchester City by one solitary point, and even nine wins in their final nine games wasn’t enough to help them over the line, as they looked to bag their first ever Premier League title.

They may have been victorious in the Champions League final with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, but Liverpool are desperate to bag league silverware for the first time in over 25 years, and Jurgen Klopp’s side will be desperate to break their Premier League duck this season.

Well, the Reds couldn’t have started any better as four wins out of for has extended their winning run in the Premier League to 13 games, and heading into the weekend fixtures they are two points clear of last year’s champions Manchester City, who are still clear favourites for another title win.

Fairly comfortable wins over Norwich City, Southampton, Arsenal and Burnley have catapulted Liverpool to the top of the table, and they will head into Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United as red-hot favourites, as they look to make it five wins from five.

Liverpool fans will already be looking forward at potential big games, and they will face a tough trip to Stamford Bridge against Chelsea next weekend, and with a UEFA Champions League tie with Napoli in midweek then it’s going to be a tough few days for Klopp’s men.

BetVictor have dangled an eye-catching carrot for Liverpool fans, as they are offering 2/1 for Liverpool to win their opening eight Premier League games, which is sure to attract some punters backing the Merseysiders to continue their domination.

With Newcastle as their fifth test, Chelsea as their sixth match, Liverpool will have to round off their octet of wins by getting the better of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on September 28, while a home tie with Leicester City on October 5 will be another notable test.

So, while they have the capabilities to kick off the campaign with eight wins on the bounce – to follow on from their nine league wins last season – Liverpool will have their work cut out to down Chelsea and Leicester, so it will be interesting to see whether the 2/1 will shorten in time with BetVictor Bookmakers.

They end October with tough matches against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but if Klopp’s side can continue their fine form then they could well shorten in the Premier League odds, and they will certainly be indicating to City that they are in it for the long haul once again.

If they can maintain their 100% record then Liverpool will be chasing the all-time Premier League record of wins on the bounce, which is held by Manchester City, who bagged 18 league wins on the bounce at the end of December 2017.
