This Tuesday sees an array of midweek action in both the Champions League and the Championship so it would be rude not to have a dabble on an anytime goalscorer acca, wouldn’t it?
Below, we’ve picked out two goalscorers in European action and a third from the six Championship games on show, with an optional bonus leg added to bump up the odds!
Sadio Mane v Salzburg
Liverpool will be dumped out of the Champions League if they lose to RB Salzburg in Tuesday evening’s early kick-off and Napoli do what is expected and beat rock-bottom Genk. However, after resting some of his key men during the Reds’ previous two league games against Everton and Bournemouth last week, Jurgen Klopp is set to play his strongest possible eleven against the Austrians.
With that in mind, it is difficult to envisage anything but an away win here considering the unbelievable consistency the European champions are showing at the moment. Sadio Mane was on the scoresheet in the Merseyside derby win over Everton last week but was rested on Saturday as the Reds comfortably beat Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield. The Senegal international will be fresh and raring to go this Tuesday, though, and scored against Salzburg when the two sides met for the first time back in October. We’re tipping him to repeat that at against his former side at the Red Bull Arena.
Luis Suarez v Inter Milan
Did anybody see Luis Suarez’s goal this weekend? Anyone at all? If you haven’t, get on YouTube right now. Outrageous skill from an outrageously talented footballer. Plenty of idiotic football fans believe that the Uruguayan is now past his best and while there is an element of truth in that – naturally because of his age – there is no doubting that he is still a wonderful player with plenty to offer.
Haters will say that Luis Suarez hasn’t scored an away goal in the Champions League since 2015 – why are you including him in your bet? To that, I have little in the way of an answer apart from his current overall form. Three goals and three assists in his last four games for Barcelona – which includes Saturday’s stunning back-heeled finish against Mallorca – means that the South American marksman is brimming with confidence right now, ready to break his four-year duck in the UCL.
The obvious shout for a goalscorer is of course Lionel Messi but he is far too short a price (and rightly so); Suarez is 12/5 to net in 90 mins against Inter and we think that is the best alternative here. He’s in.
Patrick Bamford v Hull
Leeds are absolutely flying at the minute. The Whites are currently second in the Championship and have won their previous six league games so head into their clash against 12th-placed Hull as firm favourites. Patrick Bamford has scored three goals in his last five games and seven league goals overall this term, so is the most likely to find the net for the hosts against the Tigers.
Leeds have only lost one game at home this season, winning their previous five matches at Elland Road. Their opponents have only managed to keep one clean sheet in their last five matches so it’s likely that Leeds will find some joy this week, with Bamford their biggest attacking threat at the moment.

Bonus selection: Aleksandar Mitrovic v Preston
Aleksandar Mitrovic is our bonus selection this Tuesday. The Fulham front man is currently the top scorer in the Championship having netted 15 goals and looks a real threat every time he steps on the field.
Preston are in terrible form at the moment having lost their last four games. Alex Neil’s men have conceded eight goals within those matches, too, highlighting their defensive issues. If Mitrovic is in form – which it’s very likely he will be – he could be in for a very successful evening at Deepdale.
