Open Championship Day 2 Three Ball Acca Garcia And Johnson Stand Out On Friday Schedule

Posted: Thursday, 18th July 2019

The Open Championship is always a special week and we have already seen plenty of thrills and spills at Royal Portrush. Day one is in the books with some thrilling action on the links of Northern Ireland and with the race for the Claret Jug only going to intensify, we turn our attention to day two.

The big names will be out in reverse order on Friday with the morning starters from Thursday going out in the afternoon for round two and vice versa which means there is plenty of action for punters to pick over. We have picked out our three best bets from the groups for your delectation…

Open Championship – Day 2 Acca Odds Bet
Tips: Zander Lombard to beat Chan Kim and Brandon Wu
@ 5 / 4
Sergio Garcia to beat Webb Simpson and CT Pan @ 11 / 10
Zach Johnson to beat David Duval and Corey Conners @ 4 / 5
Treble pays @ 15 / 2

12.09pm – Zander Lombard to beat Chan Kim and Brandon Wu @ 5/4

Not necessarily a glamour group in terms of star quality but there is still value to be found with Lombard the clear pick of the three. The South African started the tournament in solid fashion with a level par round of 71 putting him safely in the mix ahead of the final three rounds.

Lombard has an excellent record at the Open Championship and is more than capable of moving into contention ahead of the weekend and he is a very fair 5/4 with Bet Victor to win this group.

1.15pm – Sergio Garcia to beat Webb Simpson and CT Pan @ 11/10

We saw this group hit the headlines on Thursday with both Garcia and Simpson picking up excellent -3 under rounds to put them right in contention for the Claret Jug this week. Garcia has been in the doldrums recently but he can be a very special talent on the links courses of the UK and his experience and knowledge of the conditions ensure he is the value pick to continue his momentum with another positive round on Friday.

The Spaniard is currently 11/10 with Bet Victor to win his three ball in round two of the Open.

2.48pm – Zach Johnson to beat David Duval and Corey Conners

David Duval hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons on Thursday after taking a 13 on one hole and he is unlikely to find the going much easier on Friday. The relatively unknown Conners claimed the win in the three-ball in round one but Zach Johnson is surely the man to follow on Friday.

The former champion starts Friday +2 and will be looking to make the cut which means his solid play and good approach shots should be enough to see him claim the group win this time at 4/5 with Bet Victor.
